Eighth Meeting of China-Poland Agricultural Cooperation Working Group held in Warsaw

Vice Minister Han Jun co-chaired the 8th Meeting of China-Poland Agricultural Cooperation Working Group with his polish counterpart Romanowski, Vice Minister and Undersecretary of State for the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, in Warsaw on August 27, 2019. The two sides signed a minutes at the end of the meeting. Vice Minister Han Jun also met Polish Agricultural Minister Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski.  


Vice Minister Han Jun spoke highly of the achievements in the bilateral agricultural cooperation in recent years, and highly appraised the role of Poland in agricultural cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European Countries (China-CEEC, also known as “17+1”).  To boost bilateral agricultural cooperation, Vice Minister Han Jun proposed:   

(1) Expanding cooperation in agricultural S&T and discussing future cooperation in the quality and safety of agricultural products, agro-environmental conservation and plant protection;  

(2) Capitalizing on multilateral cooperation mechanisms including the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and “17+1”mechanism to advance multilateral and bilateral cooperation in agriculture; and  

(3) Improving the investment and trade policies and facilitating agricultural product promotion and business matchmaking to promote cooperation in agricultural trade.  


Ardanowski and Romanowski both noted that Poland attaches great importance to China-Poland agricultural cooperation, expressing willingness to strengthen cooperation with China in agricultural trade and investment, agricultural S&T, personnel exchanges and experience-sharing, and continue promoting agricultural cooperation under the framework of “17+1”mechanism.
