Minister Han Changfu Meets Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Umirzak Shukeyev

On November 5, Minister Han Changfu met with Umirzak Shukeyev, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, who attended the first China International Import Expo in Shanghai. The two sides exchanged in-depth views on deepening bilateral agricultural cooperation.

 

Minister Han Changfu fully recognized the achievements made by China-Kazakhstan agricultural cooperation and expressed that the Chinese side attaches great importance to China-Kazakhstan agricultural cooperation and is willing to enhance all-level exchanges with Kazakhstan. Minister Han also suggested the two sides formulate an agricultural cooperation plan under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and focus on strengthening pragmatic cooperation in areas of agricultural trade, animal husbandry, veterinary as well as scientific and technical exchanges in order to promote the development of agricultural cooperation under the framework of Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

 

Mr. Shukeyev extended warm congratulation on the successful convening of the first China International Import Expo and expressed that Kazakhstan will face more development opportunities because of the wider opening up in China. The Kazakh side views China as an important partner and is willing to deepen pragmatic cooperation in areas of agricultural trade, agricultural science and technology as well as exchanges of rural development experience in pursuit of constantly improving the bilateral agricultural cooperation.
