Vice Minister Yu Xinrong Visits the Republic of Poland

At the invitation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Poland, Vice Minister Yu Xinrong led a delegation and visited the Republic of Poland from July 23 to 24 and held a talk with Mr. Szymon Giżyński, Secretary of State of the Polish Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. They exchanged in-depth views on further promoting bilateral agricultural cooperation.

 

Yu fully recognized achievements realized in China-Poland agricultural cooperation and expressed the willingness to continue to work together with the Polish side in pursuit of pushing forward pragmatic development of agricultural cooperation so as to promote “16+1” agricultural cooperation. Yu also suggested that, besides deepening cooperation in agricultural trade, economy and agricultural science and technology, the two sides can also expand cooperation in sectors such as green and organic agriculture, the Internet plus modern agriculture, integration of the primary, secondary and tertiary industries, rural construction as well as rural social governance in order to inject new driving forces to agricultural and rural development in the two countries.

 

Mr. Szymon Giżyński highly appreciated China’s rural vitalization strategy and highlighted the basic role of the bilateral cooperation between China and Poland. He fully agreed with suggestions on strengthening China-Poland agricultural cooperation proposed by Yu and expressed the willingness to strengthen agricultural cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative and actively participate in “16+1” agricultural cooperation in pursuit of promoting China-Poland agricultural cooperation to enter into a new stage.

 

After the meeting, Yu and Mr. Szymon Giżyński witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Establishing China-Poland Cooperation Research Platform regarding Soil Sustainable Development between the Institute of Agricultural Resources and Regional Planning of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the Institute of Soil Science and Plant Cultivation. During his visit to Poland, Yu also exchanged views on deepening China-Poland agricultural cooperation with Mr. Grzegorz Czelej, and made a study tour on development of organic agriculture in Poland.
