Vice Minister Yu Kangzhen Meets New Zealand Director-General for Primary Industries Martyn Dunne

On July 10, Vice Minister Yu Kangzhen met with Martyn Dunn, Director-General of the Ministry of Primary Industries of New Zealand in Beijing and the two sides exchanged ideas on strengthening cooperation in animal husbandry, veterinary, fisheries and horticulture.
 
Yu said that China is willing to strengthen cooperation with New Zealand in dairy breed improvement, pasture management and veterinary, and enhance dialogue on fisheries and horticulture. Yu also invited the New Zealand side to participate in the 16th China International Agricultural Trade Fair to be held in Hunan province and China International Import Expo to be held in Shanghai in November this year.
 
Dunn fully agreed with Yu on his proposals and expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for giving high priority to China-New Zealand agricultural cooperation. He expressed that he is ready to enhance China-New Zealand agricultural dialogue and cooperation through the Joint Agricultural Commission, and the dairy, fisheries and horticulture  talks. The New Zealand side has an positive attitude towards its participation in the 16th China International Agricultural Trade Fair and China International Import Expo.
 
After the meeting, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the Working Group of the Experts on Agricultural Quality and Safety of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Primary Industries of New Zealand.
