Chinese fishery delegation joins celebration on Cambodia’s 16th National Fisheries Day

A Chinese fishery delegation attended the restocking event during the 16th National Fisheries Day of Cambodia in Siem Reap province held on July 1, 2018.

 
The event was jointly hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries of the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China. Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh and Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries Veng Sakhon attended the event.
 
Over 700 kilograms of parent fish and over one million adults, fries or fingerlings of rare and endangered species were released for restocking, and these species include various turtles, lobsters and frogs. China’s participation in the event is a part of cooperation activities with countries in the Lancang-Mekong region, demonstrating that China is responsible and ecologically friendly in fisheries.
 
During the stay in Cambodia, the Chinese delegation had a meeting with Cambodian agricultural minister Veng Sakhon in Phnom Penh. The two sides discussed cooperation in the preservation of aquatic organisms under the framework of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation mechanism.
