2nd China-Turkey Agriculture Working Group Meeting Held in Turkey

On June 11th, Vice Minister Qu Dongyu and Mr. Mehmet Daniş, Deputy Minister of Food, Agriculture and Livestock of the Republic of Turkey, jointly chaired the 2nd China-Turkey Agriculture Working Group Meeting in Ankara, Turkey. They exchanged in-depth ideas on strengthening pragmatic cooperation in agriculture.


Qu fully recognized the achievements made by the two sides since the 1st China-Turkey Agriculture Working Group Meeting. According to Qu, both China and Turkey are large countries in agriculture with huge agro-trade volume and great potential for cooperation. the opportunities of the Belt and Road Initiative and Turkey’s Middle Corridor construction, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China stands ready to enhance agricultural policy communication in an all-round way, draw on the experience of rural vitalization of both sides, and deepen cooperation in agricultural economy, trade and investment as well as scientific and technological exchanges, in pursuit of higher-level China-Turkey agricultural cooperation.


Mr. Daniş fully agreed with Qu on his proposal and expressed that the Turkish side will actively promote mutual beneficial cooperation according to the priorities laid out by the two sides, and jointly improve bilateral agricultural cooperation.


After the meeting, Qu and Mr. Daniş signed the minutes of the meeting and witnessed the signing of  a Memorandum of Understanding between the Institute Control of Agrochemicals, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China, and the Food Safety Administration of the Republic of Turkey on Pesticide Management Technique Cooperation. During his stay in Turkey, Qu also visited the Ankara Food Safety Laboratory and paid a field study on the developments of agriculture and rural area in Turkey.
