Song Jianchao Meets Colombian Deputy Minister for Agriculture and Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Song Jianchao, member of Communist Party of China (CPC) Leading Group of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs met with Ms. Cuervo, Deputy Minister for Agriculture and Rural Development of Colombia, and Mr. Franjičević, Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovinarespectively, at the 2nd China International Tea Expo in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province. They exchanged views on further strengthening cooperation in tea and coffee industry and other agricultural sectors.




According to Song, China is the birthplace of tea and tea is a world-renewed beverage. Regarding tea as a media, China wishes to advance personnel exchanges and pragmatic cooperation in agriculture with other countries and strengthen and expand the characteristic agriculture industry with jointed efforts.


During the meeting with Ms. Cuervo, Song pointed out that Colombia, an important coffee producer in the world, plays a crucial role in the world’s coffee culture and China welcomes Colombia’s coffee enterprises and associations concerned to attend the third China International Tea Expo next year. The two sides  also exchanged views on the first Overseas Training Courses on Agricultural Production and Processing Technology held in Colombia. During the meeting with Mr. Franjičević, Song fully appreciated that the 16+1 (China-CEEC) Agricultural Exhibition successfully combined with the traditional agricultural expos, and invited veterinary professionals in Bosnia and Herzegovina to receive traditional Chinese veterinary medicine training in China. Song also expressed that China looks forward to jointly promoting the establishment of the 16+1 (China-CEEC) Veterinary Science Center in Bosnia and Herzegovina.


Ms. Cuervo and Mr. Franjičević extended their congratulations on the opening of the 2nd China International Tea Expo and expressed that, through the Expo, they have a more profound understanding of the development of tea industry and tea quality in China. They also wished to fully leverage the economic and trade platforms such as the China International Tea Expo so as to further elevate the bilateral pragmatic cooperation in agriculture to a new stage.
