Vice Minister Yu Kangzhen meets Bolivian Minister of Rural Development and Lands Cesar Cocarico

Vice Minister Yu Kangzhen met with Mr. Cesar Cocarico, Minister of Rural Development and Lands of Bolivia in Beijing on March 22nd, 2018.


During the meeting, Yu reviewed agricultural cooperation between China and Bolivia and recognized achievements made by the two countries. The two sides also exchanged in-depth views on pushing forward the implementation of the Joint Action Plan on Strengthening Agricultural Cooperation between China and Bolivia. Yu pointed out that China-Bolivia agricultural cooperation enjoys great potential and that the two countries should bring into full play their own strengths. Under the framework of the action plan,  the China-Bolivia Joint Committee on Agriculture should convene its first meeting when appropriate. Meanwhile, the two sides should give priority to exchanges on agricultural science and technology, capacity building, seed research and development, and cooperation covering the whole quinoa industrial chain. In addition, an agreement on animal and plant sanitation and quarantine should be signed between China and Bolivia. And bilateral trade of agricultural products should be optimized and upgraded.  Yu also expressed that Minister Han Changfu invited Minister Cocarico to attend the second China International Tea Expo which is scheduled to take place in Hangzhou in May 2018.



Minister Cocarico said that he totally agreed on suggestions proposed by Yu and that Bolivia appreciated great achievements made in China’s agricultural development. The Bolivian government is willing to learn from China’s agricultural development and work with China to make more pragmatic achievements in agricultural cooperation. Cocarico expressed his thanks for Minister Han Changfu’s invitation and said that he would attend the second China International Tea Expo with a delegation.
