Vice Minister Qu Dongyu meets Turkish Deputy Minister of Food, Agriculture and Livestock

Vice Minister Qu Dongyu met with Mr. Mehmet Daniş, Deputy Minister of Food, Agriculture and Livestock of Turkey, in Beijing on the morning of 9 January 2018. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening bilateral agricultural exchanges and cooperation.


Vice Minister Qu briefly introduced the key message of China’s 19th CPC National Congress and reviewed the developments of agricultural cooperation between the two countries over the past years. He noted that Turkey is an important country along the Belt and Road, and agriculture a key area for bilateral cooperation. China is willing to establish a more stable and vigorous relationship of agricultural cooperation with Turkey. Vice Minister Qu stressed that China and Turkey share strong complementarities in agriculture and that bilateral agricultural trade has been growing steadily in recent years with huge potential yet to be tapped. He invited the Turkish side to large expos in China such as the China International Import Expo to showcase its special and superior agricultural products and boost agricultural trade.


Mr. Daniş fully agreed with Vice Minister Qu. He said that Turkey views the Belt and Road Initiative as an important development opportunity, highly values agricultural cooperation with China, and is willing to expand such cooperation for common agricultural development.
