Vice Minister Qu Dongyu meets Permanent Secretary of Finnish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry

Vice Minister Qu Dongyu met with Ms. Jaana Husu-Kallio, Permanent Secretary of Finnish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, in Beijing on 15 May 2017. The two sides exchanged views on deepening China-Finland agricultural cooperation.


Vice Minister Qu spoke positively of the progress made by China and Finland in agricultural cooperation in recent years. He noted that the China-Finland Platform for Agricultural Development and Innovation (CF-PADI) is an important component of and an essential tool for bilateral agricultural cooperation. To promote CF-PADI development, the two sides need to do more under the guidance and planning from the two governments, seeking technical support from institutes and encouraging participation of enterprises from both sides. He called for greater role of the Finnish Government and industrial associations in encouraging and supporting Finnish enterprises to participate in building the Platform. 


In response, Ms. Jaana Husu-Kallio stated that the Finnish side attaches great importance to agricultural cooperation with China, and will push forward bilateral agricultural cooperationby leveraging the CF-PADI.


The two sides also exchanged views on jointly formulating the Action Plan on China-Finland Agricultural Cooperation for 2017-2018 and boosting bilateral agricultural trade.
