Minister Han Changfu meets counterparts of Belarus, Malaysia & Serbia

Minister Han Changfu met with Minister of Agriculture and Food of Belarus Leonid Zayats, Minister of Agriculture & Agro-based Industry of Malaysia Dato' Sri Ahmad Shabery bin Cheek and Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Serbia Branislav Nedimović, in Beijing on May 15, 2017. The three ministers were visiting China for the Belt & Road Forum for International Cooperation.


Minister Han welcomed and appreciated the three ministers for attending the Forum as major members of respective government delegation. He noted that the agricultural cooperation between China and Belarus, Malaysia and Serbia has been intensified and yielded fruitful results, particularly in personnel exchanges, S&T and education collaboration as well as trade and investment, among others.


Minister Han underlined that the Belt and Road Initiative is a proposal of China, it also provides opportunities for the whole world. The Ministry of Agriculture of China is ready to make joint efforts with friends from all other countries and develop closer bilateral and multilateral ties under the Belt and Road Initiative, to boost agricultural development of countries and global food security.


The three ministers spoke highly of the Forum and fully agreed with Minister Han on his proposal to deepen pragmatic cooperation. Belarus, Malaysia and Serbia are willing to maintain the sound momentum of agricultural cooperation with China and expand partnerships in various areas. 


Vice Minister Yu Xinrong, Vice Minister Qu Dongyu, Senior Advisor Bi Meijia and Senior Advisor Ye Zhenqin also attended the meeting.
