Minister Han Changfu meets Russian counterpart

Minister Han Changfu met with Alexander Tkachev, Minister of the Russian Federation, in Beijing on December 16, 2015. The two sides exchanged views on enhancing China-Russia agricultural cooperation.


Minister Han Changfu pointed out that since China and Russia reached important consensuses on deepening China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination, the bilateral agricultural cooperation has witnessed in-depth development, and the cooperation mechanism has seen constant improvement.


To further promote bilateral cooperation, Minister Han Changfu put forward a three-point proposal: first, to build up a favorable investment environment for agri-businesses of both sides, intensify cooperation in food safety and veterinary service, and boost the two-way agricultural trade and investment; second, to deepen China-Russia fisheries cooperation; third, to actively promote the practical agricultural cooperation for mutual benefits and win-win outcomes in the Far East region.


Minister Han Changfu sincerely invited Alexander Tkachev to participate in the G20 Agriculture Ministers’ Meeting in early June of 2016, so as tomake joint efforts in global food and agriculture affairs and facilitate the sustainable development of agriculture.


Tkachev fully agreed with Minister Han Changfu on his proposal and expressed his willingness to further enhance agricultural cooperation with China.


Member of CPC Leading Group and Chief Economist of MOA Bi Meijia attended the meeting.
