Vice Minister Yu Xinrong met with Mr. Marek Sawicki, the visiting Polish Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development in Beijing on May 27, 2015. The two sides exchanged views on bilateral pragmatic agricultural cooperation and other issues of common interests.

Yu said that China and Poland have a solid foundation for cooperation in such areas as agricultural science and technology, agricultural trade, veterinarian service, and so on. In a bid to further strengthen bilateral agricultural cooperation, Yu put forward a 3-point proposal: first, to take the advantage of and expand bilateral and multilateral cooperative mechanisms, such as the China-Poland Agricultural Technology Promotion Center and the Agro-Trade & Economic Cooperation Forum Between China and Central-Eastern European Countries, to enrich the cooperation and generate more fruitful results; second, to strengthen bilateral cooperation in veterinary service, food safety and other areas; and third, to further deepen agricultural trade cooperation by establishing platforms and strengthening food safety. Yu hoped that the two sides will continue to expand and deepen agricultural trade cooperation under the policy of “One Belt and One Road”.

Mr. Sawicki fully agreed with Yu on his proposal and believed that bilateral agricultural cooperation, including the China-Poland Agricultural Technology Promotion Center will gain more achievements under the promotion of the two ministries.
