February 5—Vice Agricultural Minister Niu Dun met with the Director General of International Potato Center (CIP), Dr. Pamela K. Anderson.
The two sides exchanged ideas on the financial and administrative supplementary agreement of the CIP-China Center for Asia and the Pacific (CCCAP) in Beijing, the composition of the preparation team and personnel arrangement, scope of responsibilities, and the facilities of the CCCAP, and identified the main job to be done in the next phase.
Vice Minister Niu Dun said that upon the signing of the hosting agreement on the establishment of the CCCAP, the construction of the Asian-Pacific branch of CIP will enter a new stage. He hoped that both sides could work together to make full use of this platform to expand cooperation and friendship.
Officials from MOA departments of international cooperation, science, technology and education, human resources, and finance were present at the meeting.
