February 4—Vice Agricultural Minister Zhang Taolin met with the senior delegation from the International Potato Center (CIP) led by the Director General, Dr. Pamela K. Anderson. The two sides reviewed the cooperation between China and CIP for the past three decades, discussed the importance of potato and sweet potato to poverty alleviation and food security, and looked into the bright future of the CIP-China Center for Asia and the Pacific (CCCAP). Dr. Peter Vander Zaag, Chairman of CIP's Board of Trustees, and Dr. Wang Ren, Director of CGIAR introduced the relevant information at the meeting, which was also attended by officials from the MOA Department of Science, Technology and Education.
